Jump aboard an Eco Beach boat charter with local fishing legends 'Patches' and Dan O'Sullivan. From Eco Beach, Patches and Dan take you to some of the Kimberley's most active waters where you can tackle some of the most aggressive speedsters in the ocean: Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Barracuda and Northern Bluefin Tuna. Some of the best sailfish grounds in the world are right on Eco Beach's doorstep!

'Strike One II' and 'Freespool', Eco Beach's two boat limousines, are designed specifically for Kimberley waters. They are equipped with the latest electronic fish finding technology and offer guests the ultimate in safety and comfort.

Charter Fishing with Patch & Dan

'Patches' has fished the waters in the Kimberley for the past twenty years. His extensive local knowledge makes him one of the North-West's most reputable fishing identities. Specialising in bottom fishing, he rarely returns aboard Strike One II without a few Spanish Emperor, Coral Trout, Bluebone or Blue Line Emperor.

Dan O'Sullivan, who is widely renowned as one of Australia's premier fly, inshore sports and estuary fishing guides, boasts more than twelve years fishing experience in Kimberley waters. Twice winner of the 'Broome Sailfish on Fly Challenge' and guide for the current Australian record of twelve Sailfish on fly in a day, Dan specialises in fly fishing for novices through to professionals seeking a new species on fly. Fly fishing clients will enjoy a host of exciting and innovative salt water fly fishing options, from stalking estuary species with 6 weights, to sight casting the beaches for cruising Threadfin Salmon, to chasing high speed pelagics, to chasing sensational Billfish with 13 weights...

Stretching 20km north of Eco Beach, lays a rich marine environment comprising tidal creeks and flats, sand bars and endless golden beaches - all home to a vast array of fish life. You will also experience Mother Nature at her best - native flora and fauna thriving in an untouched environment.

Tropical Summer

During the Tropical Summer months of November to March, these waterways and tidal flats become home to large populations of tropical sports fish that come to wait for the freshwater run off from the big rains. Jack's and Yardoogarra Creeks, just north of Eco Beach abound with Golden Threadfin Salmon, Blue-nosed Salmon and Mangrove Jacks, offering great variety. Both creek systems also host excellent numbers of Barramundi from November to March. Other species you can expect to encounter include Giant Threadfin, Finger Mark Bream, Queenfish, Trevally, Mulloway, Giant Herring, Javlin Fish and Estuary Cod.

Dry Season

In April, the easterly winds arrive, cooling down the environment and flattening the ocean, resulting in improved visibility. Offshore, nutrient rich currents begin to wash in large schools of bait fish, pelagics and billfish. On the beaches and sand flats, schools of bait fish seek shelter in the shallow water from the marauding schools of Threadfin Salmon, Mackerel, Longtail Tuna and Queenfish. The excellent visibility at this time of year presents one of the best opportunities for sight fishing in Australia! Day and half day boat charters are available for both Eco Beach in-house guests and day visitors. For the  adventure of a lifetime, you can contact Patches and Dan O'Sullivan directly at Eco Beach on 1800 636 414.

Fishing Legends Competition

Come and drop a line at Eco Beach's annual 'Fishing Legends' competition. The Y2K competition is set for April 27th - 30th to capitalise on the large numbers of Sailfish in Roebuck Bay. You can be assured of plenty of bites and a fantastic weekend of fun.
